Calibration
Record once what your face looks like — after that everything fits.
Without a calibration the tracker works with average values. The warning "tracking is not calibrated yet" is there for exactly that.
The wizard
The wizard walks you through a few poses. Each is recorded for three seconds, and any step can be redone.
- Neutral — sit relaxed and upright, face still, mouth closed
- T-pose — stretch your arms out sideways
- Vowels — a long A, E, I, O and U
- Blinking — blink normally a few times
Note: Tracking has to be running before the wizard can start.
Profiles
Every recording is stored as a profile and can be selected in any scene. They are managed under Settings › Calibrations.
Fine-tuning
Takes effect immediately, no re-recording:
- Blink sensitivity
- Mouth gain
- Horizontal gaze
- Vertical gaze
- Body tilt trim
- Head tilt trim
Tilt trim
The avatar's torso follows exactly the shoulder line the camera sees. If the camera hangs a few degrees off level, or you sit with one shoulder higher than the other, the avatar leans permanently to one side at rest — and since you can only lean so far, one direction "won't go any further" while the other goes far too far.
The neutral step measures this: body and head separately, because a tilted camera tilts both alike while a lopsided posture only tilts the body. The two sliders fine-tune it — easiest while watching the avatar: drag until it stands straight. 0 = no correction.
TODO: Typical symptom → matching slider (e.g. "the avatar blinks constantly" → lower the sensitivity).
