Idle animationFree

So the avatar is alive even when you are doing nothing.

A restrained pose without tracking: arms hang at the sides, the head moves slightly.

Areas

AreaValues
Head motionAmount, speed
Torso motionAmount
Arm motionArms down, arm sway, idle after
Ear motionTwitch, twitch amount
Tail motionWave, amount

Note: Idle motion moves the rest pose of the ear and tail chains, not the bones directly. Physics and idle therefore work together instead of fighting each other.

When it runs

Through "when to use" per feature, usually only without tracking.

For the arms, idle after sets how long an arm may go without fresh tracking data before idle takes it over (0.1 s by default). A larger value keeps the arm where it is when a hand briefly leaves the frame; a smaller one drops it right away. Each side counts on its own.

Idle even when the upper arm is visible decides what happens with a half visible arm: without the forearm in frame the camera guesses the arm pose. When ticked, idle takes over instead of letting a guessed arm flail about. It does not apply to a tracked hand — that defines the arm anyway.

An animation of your own instead

A default animation replaces the procedural idle motion with a looping clip of your own.
