Quality against frame rate — one preset for quick, every single value for exact.
Quality preset
Potato · Low · Medium (default) · High · Ultra · Custom.
A preset sets resolution, anti-aliasing, shadows and frame rate at once. As soon as you change a single value, the preset switches to "Custom".
Shadows
- Shadow quality — five steps; higher is sharper and costs GPU and VRAM
- Shadow edges — soft (filtered) or sharp (can shimmer)
Whether an object casts a shadow is set on the object, not here.
Resolution and anti-aliasing
- Anti-aliasing (MSAA)
- 3D render resolution — below 100 % renders smaller and scales up
Frame rates
Three separate limits: scene, recording, menu. Plus low power mode, which only redraws when something changes.
TODO: Recommendation: menu low, scene at the monitor's refresh rate, recording at the stream's frame rate. Back it with numbers.
GPU throttling
Lowers the frame rate limit automatically when the GPU is too busy — threshold, minimum FPS and a warning icon are configurable.
Graphics card
On laptops with two GPUs: Automatic, Dedicated or Integrated. Takes effect after restarting the app; on Windows you pick the GPU in the Windows graphics settings instead.
Window system
X11/XWayland is the default and works everywhere. Only pick "Wayland (native)" if you need click-through in recording mode under Hyprland — see Window options.
